Holy cow!!!! Look at me; I’m down below….how cool is this?!
I am in the Torpedo Room. In fact I am standing in front of a torpedo that is stored on board. My friends told me that the Torpedo Room can hold 24 torpedoes which could be fired from one of 6 torpedo tubes. These torpedoes are huge!!! I wonder if the men who were on the ship were afraid? I guess not, since there are two that are working right next to them. (Well, they’re not real people; they’re mannequins which are supposed to show what life was like for the men who were on the boat. I don’t care, they’re still cool…)

You know what else? Just aft (that means behind) the torpedo room is a small berthing area which holds 10 bunks, toilets, showers, and sinks. Man, I thought my room was small….you can’t believe how crowded everything is down here. It would be crowded for just 1 person, never mind 10. I’ll never complain about my room again…. Each bunk has a picture of a pretty girl, which was usually the wife or girlfriend of the man. I guess it kept them company during their long trip, and remind them of home. I think it’s nice. Maybe I’ll do the same when I’m on my adventures!

Look…there’s a hatch ahead. I wonder where it leads?
Your friend,
Stanley
